Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

52 Week Dragon Challenge - 2012


RULES

:bulletpurple:  Draw 1 dragon for each week of the year. It can be a detailed sketch or finished work. You should take at least 1 hour on your work. So no quickie doodles or scribbles. Finish work of course would be awesome but I understand people can get short on time (like myself).

:bulletpurple: Submit your work to the folder called 52 Week Dragon Challenge.

:bulletpurple: Make sure to number your dragons. I won't allow them into the folder without a number i.e. "Dragon week 1" or "Dragon 1".

:bulletpurple: If you start the challenge late, you CAN catch up at any time.

i'm quite late, but i just make big projects.
is it posible ik make a dragon a month, then i can put more time into it.
i already made one finished drawing this year, so i'll at least upload that one.
